Biography: Marcus P. Cook, M.D.
|
| Raised in Charlotte North carolina, Dr. Marcus
Cook earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Davidson College
and his M.D. from Duke University, School of Medicine in 1997. Dr. Cook
went on to complete both a general surgery residency and an orthopaedic
surgery residency at Tulane University School of Medicine and its Affiliated
Hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Furthering his specialty training, Dr. Cook served a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore Maryland
where he was responsible for Johns Hopkins, Morgan State University and Goucher College training rooms. Following his many years of studies, Dr. Cook
began practicing at Winchester Orthopaedics in Boston Massachusetts in 2003 and was appointed to Winchester Hospital and served
Harvard University Health Services and its numerous sports teams.

In 2005, Dr. Cook returned to his hometown and
joined Gill Orthopaedic Clinic P.A. where today he practices general orthopaedic
surgery and specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy of the shoulder
and knee. Dr. Cook, Board-Certified, also remains active in academic studies
and is a current member of The American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine,
the American College of Sports Medicine, and the Tulane Caldwell Society.
Dr. Cook resides in Charlotte with his wife Wendy and their two daughters, Anna and Grace.
